Short description of your art.

Franklin Moar, A.K.A Vangorian is a Cree Producer and DJ from Chisasibi Cree Nation, Quebec. A fully self-taught artist, Vangorian is recognized for his signature synth, pop melodic beats and heavy remixes that transcend the dance and electronic music worlds. A high energy performer, Vangorian has extensive DJing experience and well developed mixing abilities. In 2019, Vangorian was invited to perform at an official N ’we Jinan Music Showcase at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights in Winnipeg, Manitoba to an audience of over 300 people. In the fall of 2019 Vangorian released his self-produced debut EP titled Different World to all streaming platforms. This six-song project exhibits an impactful journey of nostalgia, fearlessness, coming of age and the different worlds experienced as one progresses from youth into adulthood. He followed that EP with the release of Nebula, a star world soundscapes EP in 2020. In 2022, Vangorian was Invited to perform at N’we Jinan ArtWorks Showcase Canadian Music Week 2022 in Toronto. Vangorian released his third EP called 'Awaken' in 2023. Vangorian aims to inspire people to pursue their own passions while maintaining the playfulness of youth. He has an exciting trajectory ahead of him including a slew of soon to be announced tour dates. Most recently, Vangorian was nominated for the Cree Nation Youth Council Inspire Hope Awards. This young producer and DJ’s journey has only just begun, and a promising future lies ahead.

Where did you learn your art?

I am self-taught artist, learning how to use Software to craft my music, DJing, content creation and everything I do.

Where do you find inspiration for your work?

I get inspirations from Space ambient themes, Nature soundscapes & some of my favorite EDM Artists like deadmau5, Skrillex, Virtual Riot, Tisoki and more.

Have you received any formal training?

I attended some various trainings about arts from InPath since 2020 to present, we do trainings virtually.

What other art forms do you practice?

I do amateur photography, Graphic Designing & Video Editing.

Have you ever received any awards or special recognition?

No, but I was nominated in Cree Nation Youth Council 2nd Inspire Hope Awards in 2022 in the Music Category. I was on CBC News about Northern Quebec Cree Nation Artists Canadian Music Week in 2022.

Yes, I sell my music on Major platforms like Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon Music and more.

My music has been in the local radio station once, and news articles like CBC & Nation.
