Short description of your art.

Indigenous inspired Acrylic paintings that capture the Cree Life. Storytelling through arts.

Where did you learn your art?

Self taught and use art as part of my healing. I took an introduction course on Acrylics as an elective at University. It taught me basics of tools, paints and mixing colours

Where do you find inspiration for your work?

I find inspiration in learning about culture and depiction of life as an indigenous person. I also try to Paint images that preserveS cultural tools, items and knowledge. I grew up spending time in the bush with family and grandparents. I also want to teach people about the Cree way of life. It is my way of keeping my connection to my language and culture.

Have you received any formal training?

Lakehead University Introduction to Acrylic painting, watching videos on programs and You Tube

What other art forms do you practice?

Woodwork, beading, sewing, and crafting home decor as well as clothing designs

Have you ever received any awards or special recognition?

No, I have never received recognition.

Do you sell your work? If so, how?

I sell my manufactured clothing designs on our website www.napash-arts.ca I sell at craft shows and our Facebook & Instagram pages
