Short description of your art.

I do anything from custom one-of-a-kind jewellery all the way to limited collections. Everything is handmade by me starting from the design to the finished piece. I work silver and gold, mostly, with gemstones here and there but I'm not limited to those materials strictly. For instance, on my graduate project, I used a caribou antler.

Where did you learn your art?

I took a 3 year program in jewellery making at Cegep du Vieux Montréal(CVM) and graduated in 2017. I have also taken numerous workshops to gather more advanced knowledge. I'm also constantly experimenting and studying various fields and specialized techniques on the side.

Where do you find inspiration for your work?

My jewellery is mostly inspired by Eeyou Istchee and areas I grew up around, in Chisasibi. With that said, I still experiment in other directions for fun. I don't want to say I have found my artistic style yet as I'm constantly changing my directions.

Have you received any formal training?

I took a 3 year program in jewellery making at Cegep du Vieux Montréal(CVM) and graduated in 2017. I have also taken a lot of other workshops.

What other art forms do you practice?

I have started taking an interest in knife making and blacksmithing. I made a few projects but I'm still learning. I plan on pushing through that field shortly and possibly merging different art forms with my jewellery knowledge to make unique pieces. I also started lapidary arts which is the shaping of gemstones. I use these gemstones for my jewellery making.

Have you ever received any awards or special recognition?

I was a finalist in the National Jeweler competition for graduates of 2017( Hosted by L.A PAI Gallery in Ottawa, it is a Canada wide emerging jeweler competition). I've received a mention for perseverance at school I attended(École de joaillerie de Montréal).

Do you sell your work? If so, How?

I take private orders, I'm also in a gallery in Ottawa(L.A Pai) and also sold a few things at the cultural center in Chisasibi. I plan to expand to other communities in the near future.

Please provide any information on your buyers.

I think my buyers are mostly locals and collectors. People interested in high quality and unique jewellery.
