I started by doing face painting, creating characters on people's faces. Then I started experimenting with different types of body art, including doing landscapes on faces. I was encouraged to try painting landscapes on canvas, specifically for Walking Out Ceremony banners to be pinned onto the teepee door. Since then, I have continued to learn and practice my art through commissions and personal projects. I began doing beadwork to help me cope with my anxiety, and since then, I enjoy all different styles of beadwork, mixing contemporary with traditional.
Face & Body painting, I learned through practice and by painting many different faces during community events. I learned the basics on Beadwork from my mother and grandmother, who both had been beading since before I was born. I adapted it to fit my personal style and learn a lot from creating personal projects as well as commissions.
I take a lot of inspiration from the my hometown of Whapmagoostui, I enjoy using vivid colors and glitter in all my work.
I occasionally offer my makeup skills for special events and for project collaborations I enjoy using calligraphy in a lot of my artwork.
Through Facebook, Instagram and during community events.
I often share what I have available for purchase online on my Facebook and Instagram page. I also accept commission there as well. If you have a project in mind, I am always open to hearing about it.
