Marketing & Communications Officer

The Marketing and Communications Officer is responsible for the development and supervision of all marketing and communications strategies for CNACA. This individual will oversee the development of goals, strategies, and implementation plans to execute comprehensive marketing campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee CNACA’s and Wachiya’s marketing strategy (digital and print) across the full marketing mix.
  • Develop, write and edit quality and engaging marketing and communications materials, including press releases, website, radio and social media content.
  • Conceptualize and create graphics and visuals for the website, social media, annual reports, brochures, posters and all marketing collateral.
  • Oversee, maintain, and create content for the CNACA website including artist bios.
  • Measure and report on the performance of marketing campaigns and obtain information and evaluate them against objectives.
  • Collaborate with store manager and stakeholders to develop go-to-market strategies and tactics to bring awareness of the Wachiya store and attract qualified traffic.
  • Partner with store manager and management to identify, develop and execute initiatives to drive the Wachiya brand awareness, acquisition, and positive customer sentiment.
  • Design and implement a strategic sales plan that expands Wachiya’s customer base.
  • Coordinate with marketing and partners on lead generation.
  • Perform all related and administrative duties.

Requirements

  • A college or bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales or equivalent practical work experience in a related occupation.
  • Must be able to communicate in Cree and English. Understanding of the French language, both oral and written, is an asset.
  • Must possess excellent copy writing skills.
  • Proficient in design and digital software including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator. Video editing and multimedia is an asset.
  • Experience in ecommerce or retail would be a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of the Cree culture and the traditional ways of life of the Eeyou Nation.
  • Ability to work independently and proven capacity to plan and work efficiently. Interpersonal relationship skills and ability to interact positively with people in general.
  • Committed to continuous education through training, workshops, seminars and conferences.
  • CNACA may waive all or any of the aforementioned requirements if it finds a suitable candidate and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by CNACA.
  • Must be able to travel as required.

Terms of Employment

 Please take notice that this is a full-time, permanent position and subject to a 3-months probationary period.

Salary for the above position will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the applicant. CNACA offers competitive salary and benefits and offers equal opportunities to men and women.
