Short description of your art.

I am a traditional and contemporary Cree/Inuit artist. I do beadwork, embroidery, moose hide crafts, sealskin crafts, powwow outfits, Cree ceremonial outfits, ceremonial items, etc. I also make 19 century James Bay Cree material culture originals and replicas. I am also a fancy shawl powwow dancer.

Where did you learn your art?

My first teachers were the women in my family, my grandmothers, my mother and my aunts. I learnt from my Cree Culture teachers and joined many workshops in Eeyou Istchee on different types of crafting. I am also self taught in some of my crafting skills.

Where do you find inspiration for your work?

My family, Eeyou Istchee and our culture.

What other art forms do you practice?

Drawing floral designs and paint occasionally.

Have you ever received any awards or special recognition?

Honour of being head female dancer at multiple Traditional Powwows & Special Powwow performance dancer in community events.

Do you sell your work? If so, how?
