Wachiya Store Manager
The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the store’s operations, with a focus on promoting and selling Cree products sourced from artists & artisans in Eeyou Istchee. You will lead a team to ensure excellent customer service, manage inventory, and maintain the overall success and growth of the store.

Responsibilities
- Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, and supervise store staff, providing guidance and support to ensure a cohesive and motivated team.
- Schedule shifts, delegate tasks, and oversee performance evaluations to maintain high standards of service.
- Sales & Customer Service
- Drive sales by developing strategies to attract customers and promote products effectively.
- Foster a welcoming and knowledgeable atmosphere for customers, offering assistance, answering inquiries, and resolving any issues or complaints.
- Inventory Management
- Oversee inventory levels, including receiving and stocking merchandise to ensure adequate supply and optimal product assortment.
- Monitor inventory turnover rates and implement strategies to minimize shrinkage and optimize profitability.
- Marketing & Promotion
- Collaborate with CNACA’s marketing team to develop and execute promotional campaigns, events, and initiatives to increase store visibility and attract new customers.
- Utilize social media platforms and other marketing channels to engage with the community and promote store offerings.
- Financial Management
- Develop and adhere to budgets, including monitoring expenses and revenue, and implementing cost-control measures to maximize profitability.
- Prepare sales reports, analyze performance metrics, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Store Operations
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards for safety, cleanliness, and security.
- Maintain store appearance and merchandise displays to enhance the overall shopping experience and reflect the brand image.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management or related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in retail management, with a track record of achieving sales targets and driving operational excellence.
- Knowledge and appreciation of Indigenous cultures, particularly Cree culture and art, is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

Terms of Employment
Please take notice that this is a full-time, permanent position and subject to a 3-month probationary period.
