The Cree Native Arts & Crafts Association was recently featured by CBC North in its coverage of acclaimed Cree author and Elder Margaret Sam-Cromarty and the release of her latest book, James Bay Memoirs and Other Stories.
The article highlights the celebration of Margaret’s work and her lifelong contribution to preserving Cree stories, history, language, and cultural knowledge. CNACA Executive Director Dale Cooper also spoke with CBC about the importance of storytelling as an art form and the need to honour and share the knowledge carried by Cree Elders.
CNACA is proud to have been part of this important celebration and to see Margaret’s accomplishments recognized by CBC North. Margaret was previously presented with CNACA’s Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to Cree arts and culture.
