Ouje-Bougoumou, Qc. Nov 9, 2021 – The Cree Native Arts & Crafts Association (CNACA) is pleased to announce its 4th Eeyou Istchee Achievement Awards to be held November 11, 2021. The CNACA Eeyou Istchee Achievement Awards is a way to present, promote, and bring recognition to our Cree artists and artisans for their outstanding contribution and exemplary dedication to the arts in Eeyou Istchee.
The award ceremony will be held online and broadcast via Facebook at 7PM, following the Official Inauguration Ceremony of the newly elected Grand Chief, Deputy Grand Chief, Youth Grand Chief and the Deputy Youth Grand Chief.
Hosted by Joshua Iserhoff, the Award Ceremony will feature music videos from artists from N’we Jinan Records and acceptance speeches from the winners. To reflect our changing artistic world and the increasing diversity of the fields of practice and skills of our Eeyou artists and artisans, we have expanded our award categories from 5 to 12 distinct categories.
We hope that this virtual ceremony will provide you with an opportunity to celebrate the great talent Eeyou Istchee has to offer, to appreciate the diversity of Eeyou arts and crafts, and to keep alive our ancestral skills and knowledge.
On behalf of the staff and Board of Directors of CNACA, we look forward to celebrating together at the 4th Eeyou Istchee Achievement Awards.
