Louis-Vincent Parent hails from Chisasibi and is a contemporary jeweler. Since completing his jewelery making program at Cegep du Vieux Montréal (CVM) in 2017, Louis-Vincent has made custom one-of-a-kind jewelery and limited collections. His jewelery is mostly inspired by Eeyou Istchee and areas he grew up around in Chisasibi.
While he primarily works with silver, gold, and gemstones, he continues to experiment with a variety of techniques and materials. More recently Louis-Vincent has taken an interest in knife-making and blacksmithing, as well as lapidary arts (which is the shaping of gemstones) and intents to blend various art-forms to create unique pieces.
He was a finalist in the 2017 National Jeweler Competition for Graduates, hosted by L.A PAI Gallery in Ottawa and received a mention for perseverance from the École de joaillerie de Montréal.
Louis Vincent Parent was recently featured in the Cree Native Arts & Crafts Association’s annual report.
